TotalEnergies has entered into a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Saint-Gobain to supply renewable electricity to the company’s facilities in France. The agreement, which begins in January 2026, will provide a total of 875 GWh of renewable energy over five years.
Under this contract, TotalEnergies will deliver a baseload supply of electricity along with guarantees of origin for the energy generated from its wind and solar plants located in northeast and southern France, as well as the Loire Valley.
This new agreement builds upon a previous arrangement made in June 2023, where TotalEnergies supplied biomethane from its BioBéarn facility to Saint-Gobain.
Sophie Chevalier, Vice President of Flexible Power & Integration at TotalEnergies, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, highlighting their joint commitment to reducing carbon emissions in French industry. She noted that TotalEnergies’ renewable portfolio of over 2 GW helps prevent 800,000 tons of CO2 emissions annually.
Saint-Gobain aims to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, and this agreement is a crucial step towards decarbonizing its production processes. Energy Purchasing Director Swaroop Srinath stated that the contract will ensure a reliable supply of renewable electricity, enabling the company to source 30% of its electricity from renewables in France by 2027.
The PPA with Saint-Gobain reflects TotalEnergies’ capacity to provide tailored energy solutions and builds on similar agreements with other major companies such as Air Liquide, Amazon, and Microsoft, showcasing its commitment to supporting clients in their decarbonization initiatives.
