Sitetracker Selected by BNZ for Southern Europe Renewable Growth

Sitetracker, a global provider of complete Asset Lifecycle Management solutions for critical infrastructure, announced that BNZ, an independent power producer (IPP) focused on renewable energy across Southern Europe, has selected its platform to streamline and scale the management of the company’s expanding multitechnology portfolio.

BNZ develops, builds, and operates utility-scale renewable energy assets across Spain, Italy, and Portugal. The company’s portfolio currently exceeds 2.7 gigawatts (GW) across development, construction, and operations. This includes 530 megawatts (MW) of connected capacity and another 222 MW currently under construction. As BNZ continues to expand its presence across Southern European renewable energy markets, the company sought a centralized platform capable of supporting increasingly complex project and asset management requirements.

The selection of Sitetracker is intended to help BNZ improve visibility across its portfolio, standardize processes, and increase operational efficiency throughout the full asset lifecycle. By bringing information and workflows together within a centralized environment, BNZ expects to create greater consistency across development, construction, and operations.

For a renewable energy producer managing projects at different stages and across multiple technologies and markets, maintaining accurate and accessible information is an important part of portfolio management. BNZ’s growing portfolio requires coordination between internal teams, project partners, external stakeholders, and corporate functions. Sitetracker’s platform will provide a common environment designed to help those groups manage project information and workflows more efficiently.

“The next generation of renewable energy leaders will be defined by how efficiently they can scale,” said Giuseppe Incitti, CEO of Sitetracker. “BNZ is taking a proactive approach to building the operational infrastructure needed to support long-term growth, visibility, and execution across its portfolio.”

As BNZ’s portfolio increases in both size and technological diversity, the company identified the need for a flexible digital platform that could act as a single source of truth for project and asset information. The platform will also be integrated with BNZ’s broader corporate data environment, enabling the company to connect operational processes with other technology systems used across its business.

Through its deployment of Sitetracker, BNZ will be able to standardize workflows across development, construction, and operations. This is expected to improve visibility into important project milestones while helping teams identify portfolio risks and monitor operational performance. Greater access to centralized information can also support more proactive project management as assets progress through different stages of their lifecycles.

The implementation is further expected to streamline executive reporting. With project and operational information organized within a centralized platform, BNZ can establish more consistent reporting processes and provide stakeholders with greater visibility into portfolio progress. The approach is designed to support decision-making while reducing the administrative effort associated with collecting and consolidating information from multiple sources.

Collaboration is another important component of the implementation. Renewable energy projects typically involve numerous participants throughout their development, construction, commissioning, and operational phases. By standardizing processes and improving access to relevant information, BNZ aims to strengthen coordination among internal teams and external stakeholders.

BNZ also selected Sitetracker based on the platform’s configurability and analytics capabilities, as well as its ability to integrate with the company’s broader technology ecosystem. The implementation will include integration with Microsoft Fabric and Microsoft Entra ID, allowing Sitetracker to work alongside existing corporate technology infrastructure.

The ability to integrate with existing systems was an important consideration for BNZ as it evaluated solutions for managing its expanding portfolio. Rather than operating as an isolated system, the company wanted a platform capable of fitting into its existing digital environment and supporting its longer-term technology strategy.

“We wanted a platform that could support standardized processes across development, construction, and operations while integrating seamlessly into our broader technology ecosystem,” said Esther García, COO at BNZ. “Sitetracker gives us the flexibility and interoperability needed to support long-term portfolio growth.”

The implementation comes as renewable energy developers and independent power producers continue to manage increasingly diverse portfolios. As companies expand into multiple markets and technologies, project management processes can become more complex, particularly when assets move between development, construction, and operational phases.

For BNZ, centralizing information across these stages is expected to provide a more structured approach to portfolio management. The company will be able to establish standardized workflows while maintaining the flexibility required to accommodate different projects, technologies, and operational requirements.

The platform is also intended to support improved governance. By creating standardized processes and consolidating project and asset information, BNZ aims to establish clearer oversight of activities across its portfolio. Centralized data can provide teams with a more consistent view of project status, milestones, risks, and operational information.

Reducing manual processes is another objective of the deployment. Renewable energy organizations managing multiple projects can spend significant time gathering information, updating records, preparing reports, and coordinating activities across different systems. By digitizing and standardizing these workflows, BNZ expects to improve efficiency and allow teams to focus more closely on project execution and portfolio management.

BNZ’s renewable energy portfolio spans Spain, Italy, and Portugal, giving the company exposure to several major Southern European markets. With more than 2.7 GW across development, construction, and operation, the company is building a substantial renewable energy platform while continuing to add projects to its pipeline.

Sitetracker’s Asset Lifecycle Management platform is designed to support infrastructure organizations as projects move from initial development through construction and into long-term operations. For BNZ, the implementation represents an effort to create a scalable operational foundation capable of supporting its portfolio as it grows.

By centralizing project, asset, and operational data, BNZ aims to strengthen governance, improve visibility, reduce manual work, and create more consistent processes across its business. The company expects these capabilities to provide a stronger foundation for managing future growth across multiple renewable energy technologies and markets.

The deployment of Sitetracker therefore forms part of BNZ’s broader effort to build an integrated digital infrastructure for its renewable energy operations. As its portfolio continues to expand, the company will use centralized data, standardized workflows, analytics, and system interoperability to support project execution and operational management across Southern Europe.
