Fluor Team Wins NNSA Pantex Plant Management Contract

Fluor Corporation (NYSE: FLR) announced today that the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) has selected PanTexas Deterrence LLC, a joint venture led by a BWX Technologies, Inc. subsidiary, along with partners Fluor, SOC (a Day & Zimmermann Company), and The Texas A&M University System, to manage and operate the Pantex Plant near Amarillo, Texas.

The initial contract term is five years, with the potential for three additional five-year option periods. If all options are exercised, the contract will extend over 20 years, with an estimated total funding of approximately $30 billion.

Tom D’Agostino, Group President of Fluor’s Mission Solutions business, expressed enthusiasm about supporting the NNSA’s mission at Pantex: “We have supported our nation’s security since 1944 and are committed to revitalizing America’s national security while prioritizing safety, production delivery, and program excellence.”

Pantex plays a crucial role in maintaining the safety, security, and reliability of the U.S. nuclear weapons stockpile. Its responsibilities include supporting life extension programs for nuclear weapons, surveillance, assembly, dismantlement, and the development of high-explosive components.
