PTTEP Wins Seven Awards at 2026 EIA Monitoring Awards
PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP) has received seven Outstanding Awards at the EIA Monitoring Awards 2026 in the Petroleum Development category, recognizing the company’s environmental performance across its petroleum exploration and production operations in Thailand.
The awards were presented by the Office of Natural Resources and Environmental Policy and Planning (ONEP), Thailand’s government agency responsible for environmental policy and environmental impact assessment oversight. The recognition highlights PTTEP projects that have demonstrated compliance with environmental impact assessment (EIA) measures, environmental management requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
PTTEP’s seven awards cover a range of onshore and offshore petroleum operations. The projects span natural gas production, petroleum production, and exploration and production activities in several provinces as well as areas in the Gulf of Thailand. Together, the awards reflect the company’s ongoing approach to environmental monitoring and management throughout its operations.
Among the recognized projects is the Sinphuhorm Natural Gas Production Development Project in Onshore Exploration Blocks EU1 and E5 (Khorat E5N), which covers areas in Udon Thani and Khon Kaen provinces. The project received an Outstanding Award for the third consecutive year. Its continued recognition places the project among PTTEP’s operations that have repeatedly met the environmental criteria assessed under the EIA Monitoring Awards program.
Another project receiving its third consecutive recognition is the Kamphaeng Saen Petroleum Production Project in the PTTEP 1 concession block in Nakhon Pathom Province. The project’s latest award continues a three-year record of recognition in the Petroleum Development category.
The petroleum production project in Block G2/61 also received an Outstanding Award, marking the second consecutive year that the project has earned the distinction. The recognition adds to the list of PTTEP operations demonstrating continued compliance with environmental requirements.
PTTEP’s offshore operations were also represented among the award recipients. The Arthit petroleum production project, covering Blocks 14A, 15A, and 16A in the Gulf of Thailand, received one of the seven awards. Arthit is part of PTTEP’s natural gas production portfolio and represents the company’s activities in Thailand’s offshore petroleum sector.
The S1 petroleum production project was also recognized. The project operates across Kamphaeng Phet, Phitsanulok, and Sukhothai provinces and forms part of PTTEP’s onshore petroleum production activities. Its inclusion among the award-winning projects demonstrates the breadth of operations covered by this year’s EIA Monitoring Awards.
Two additional PTTEP projects were recognized in the 2026 awards. One is the petroleum exploration and production project in onshore exploration Blocks L53/43 and L54/43 in Suphan Buri Province. The other is the petroleum production project in Block G1/61, South Area, covering the Erawan, Jakrawan, Satun, and Funan fields.
The seven recognized projects therefore cover different types of petroleum activities, including exploration, natural gas production, and petroleum production. They also encompass both onshore and offshore locations, giving the awards broad representation across PTTEP’s operations in Thailand.
Environmental impact assessment monitoring is an important part of managing projects that may affect surrounding communities, ecosystems, natural resources, and the environment. Petroleum exploration and production projects can involve a range of environmental considerations, including emissions, water management, waste management, biodiversity, marine and terrestrial ecosystems, and impacts associated with construction and production activities. The repeated recognition of several projects is particularly notable. Sinphuhorm and Kamphaeng Saen have now been recognized for three consecutive years, while Block G2/61 has received awards for two consecutive years. These repeat awards indicate that the projects have continued to meet the assessment requirements applied by ONEP during successive monitoring periods.
The awards also highlight the importance of environmental performance alongside petroleum production. As energy companies manage existing assets and develop resources, regulatory compliance and environmental monitoring remain integral components of project management. The awards ceremony was held during the 2026 Academic Seminar and Award Ceremony for Establishments in Compliance with Environmental Impact Assessment Measures. The event took place at the Rama Gardens Hotel in Bangkok and brought together organizations recognized for their compliance with EIA measures.
For PTTEP, receiving seven Outstanding Awards places multiple projects within its portfolio among the operations recognized under the 2026 Petroleum Development category. The recognition spans projects in Udon Thani, Khon Kaen, Nakhon Pathom, Kamphaeng Phet, Phitsanulok, Sukhothai, and Suphan Buri provinces, as well as offshore petroleum assets in the Gulf of Thailand.
