
Hyliion and MMR Power Solutions Partner to Advance Deployment of KARNO Power Modules for Stationary Applications
Hyliion Holdings Corp. (NYSE American: HYLN), an innovator in sustainable electricity-producing technologies, has announced a major step forward in the commercialization of its flagship power generation solution. The company revealed it has entered into a non-binding Letter of Intent (LOI) with MMR Power Solutions, a division of MMR Group. This LOI outlines an initial plan for MMR to purchase and deploy three of Hyliion’s KARNO™ Power Modules, bringing up to 600 kilowatts (kW) of clean, stationary power generation to its industrial and commercial customers.
The proposed deployment of these units is expected to commence in the second half of 2026, setting the stage for Hyliion’s entrance into the market for stationary distributed energy solutions. This partnership marks a critical milestone in Hyliion’s journey from technology development to commercial deployment and demonstrates rising demand across multiple sectors for scalable, efficient, and lower-emission power systems.

KARNO™: A Next-Generation Linear Generator

Instead of relying on internal combustion engines or turbines, the KARNO system uses a sealed, linear heat engine architecture to produce electricity from a variety of fuel sources, including natural gas, hydrogen, biogas, and even industrial waste heat.
Designed for long-duration power needs, KARNO modules are expected to deliver significant advantages in several key performance areas:
- High Fuel Flexibility: Capable of running on more than 20 different fuels, including hydrogen and renewable gases.

CHP, also known as cogeneration, involves capturing the thermal energy generated during electricity production and repurposing it for heating, industrial processes, or additional electricity generation—greatly improving overall system efficiency.
KARNO’s sealed and modular heat engine architecture is especially conducive to CHP integration.
