Morrison Welcomes Eddie Trahan as Director of Offshore Operations
Chet Morrison Contractors, LLC (Morrison) has announced the return of Edward “Eddie” Trahan as the new Director of Morrison Offshore. With over 25 years of experience in the energy and infrastructure sectors, Trahan brings a proven track record of success, leadership, and technical acumen to his new role. His appointment is seen as a strategic move to further strengthen Morrison’s offshore business and operational excellence.
Trahan’s extensive background includes the successful planning and execution of more than 250 miles of pipeline installations in the Gulf of Mexico, along with the recovery of over 150 miles of pipeline. His deep industry expertise spans project management, offshore operations, and client relations—making him well-equipped to lead Morrison’s offshore operations at a critical time of industry evolution and growth.
This new role marks a homecoming for Trahan, who previously worked at Morrison from 2005 to 2019. During his earlier tenure, he held several key leadership positions, contributing to numerous complex offshore projects and playing a vital role in the company’s expansion in pipeline construction and subsea services.
As Director of Morrison Offshore, Trahan now oversees key divisions including Pipeline, Diving, and Pipeline Services. He is responsible for a range of critical functions—from offshore project development and execution to vessel operations and readiness. His scope includes overseeing fleet deployment, project timelines, budget adherence, and ensuring all offshore projects meet safety and quality standards. Reporting directly to CEO Chet Morrison, Trahan is also working closely with other business unit leaders, such as Ches Morrison, Director of Onshore Pipeline Construction, and Mike McEvilly, Director of Fabrication.
CEO Chet Morrison expressed great enthusiasm about Trahan’s return, emphasizing the value of his expertise and leadership. “I’m excited to welcome Eddie back to the Morrison team,” said Morrison. “This past year we have focused heavily on strengthening our operations and refining our service delivery. Eddie’s deep industry knowledge, strategic mindset, and hands-on leadership will significantly contribute to our offshore division’s momentum and long-term vision.”

Trahan’s leadership style is both collaborative and performance-driven, and he brings a renewed energy to the Morrison Offshore team. His industry insight and practical experience enable him to guide teams effectively through complex project lifecycles, while also fostering a strong safety culture and client-centered service delivery.
Reflecting on his return, Trahan said, “Rejoining Morrison is a tremendous opportunity. I’ve always appreciated the company’s strong culture and commitment to excellence. The people here are some of the most dedicated professionals I’ve worked with, and the resources available—including our diverse fleet and technical support—give us a powerful edge in the offshore market. I’m excited to help lead this team as we continue to meet and exceed the expectations of our clients in an ever-challenging environment.”
He added that the company’s emphasis on operational integrity and performance is key to its industry standing, and that the alignment between leadership, field personnel, and clients positions Morrison Offshore to thrive in a competitive landscape. “Clients today expect precision, safety, and results,” he said. “With the team that’s in place and Chet’s ongoing investment in resources and capabilities, we’re poised to deliver on all fronts.”
Over the last year, Chet Morrison has personally overseen both the CEO role and the Offshore Business Unit, managing the division during a period of operational refinement and strategic growth. He noted that while it has been rewarding to lead the offshore operations directly, he is ready to transition that responsibility to Trahan.
“It’s been an energizing experience to be directly involved in our offshore activities over the past year,” said Morrison. “But with Eddie stepping into this role, I can now shift my focus to broader strategic initiatives and continue driving growth across all business units. Eddie is uniquely qualified to lead Morrison Offshore, and I’m confident he will build on our progress and take the division to new levels of performance.”
Morrison’s strategic focus in recent years has included expanding its capabilities in offshore construction, diving, and subsea pipeline services, all areas that Trahan will now help lead. With new offshore project opportunities emerging in the Gulf of Mexico and beyond, Trahan’s experience in project delivery, team development, and stakeholder coordination will be critical.
In addition to project execution, Trahan is expected to play a major role in refining Morrison’s offshore service offerings, exploring innovative technologies, and enhancing workforce training and safety initiatives. His return aligns with Morrison’s broader commitment to investing in leadership talent that understands the unique demands of offshore energy infrastructure development.
Under Trahan’s guidance, the offshore division is also anticipated to enhance collaboration with other Morrison business units. This integration will help optimize project delivery timelines, reduce operational risks, and provide clients with seamless, end-to-end solutions.
The appointment of Eddie Trahan comes at a time when the offshore energy market is undergoing significant shifts due to evolving environmental regulations, technological advancements, and rising client expectations. Morrison’s decision to bring back a proven leader signals its intent to stay ahead of industry trends and deliver high-impact results through trusted leadership.
As Morrison Offshore moves into its next chapter under Trahan’s direction, the company remains committed to its core values—safety, performance, teamwork, and integrity. With a solid leadership team in place and a shared vision for growth, Morrison continues to position itself as a trusted partner in offshore energy services.
