Sterling Shipyard, LLC has successfully delivered the Laguna Gulf, a powerful new tractor tugboat that strengthens its long-term partnership with Gulf LNG Tugs of Brownsville, LLC. The delivery represents an important milestone for both organizations as demand continues to grow for advanced harbor tugboats capable of supporting liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals and major ports across the U.S. Gulf Coast. The Laguna Gulf is the 13th completed vessel in the highly regarded Z-Tech® 30-80 tractor tugboat series, a design developed by internationally recognized naval architecture firm Robert Allan Ltd. Powering the vessel is a propulsion system producing approximately 7,000 horsepower, enabling the tug to generate a bollard pull exceeding 80 metric tons.
