High School Women Launch First of its Kind Energy Literacy Podcast

Oil and Gas Global Network (OGGN), the world’s leading podcast network for oil and energy, announces the release of two new podcasts, “The BEN Show” and “Wired In: The New Age of Connectivity.” Both podcasts are launching live on Wednesday, May 8 in the middle of one of the largest energy tradeshows in the world, the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC 2024).

The BEN Show is the first podcast of its kind that aims to educate America’s young people on energy realities and is already OGGN’s fastest growing podcast. Hosts Kennedy Vital and Shia Brown are students at the International Business & Marketing Academy at William B. Travis High School in Richmond, Texas. Together they cover energy-related topics that impact everyday life. The podcast is sponsored by Blue Energy Nation (BEN), a nonprofit whose mission is to educate the next generation on energy production and consumption.

Wired In: The New Age of Connectivity, is hosted by Kamalpreet Kaur, a commercial leader in low carbon solutions, CCUS and hydrogen at NOV. She will focus on discussing the connected worker in heavy industry and how to create meaningful bonds among coworkers in the digital age.

“I’m thrilled to enhance our podcast offerings with these two female-forward energy podcasts that will continue the conversation surrounding trending energy topics perhaps opening the dialogue up to younger audiences,” said Mark LaCour, editor in chief, OGGN.

The Oil and Gas Global Network (OGGN) launched in 2014 with a single oil and gas podcast. Today it is the fastest growing broadcast media company for the energy industry with 20-plus regularly produced shows and listeners in every country in the world. In 2023 OGGN earned the trophy for Best Energy Podcast in the US. For more information, visit oggn.com.
