Duke Energy Florida has successfully restored power to over 99% of customers affected by Hurricane Milton, exceeding the estimated restoration times for all counties, including Central Florida.
As of 9 a.m. today, around 3,000 outages remain, a significant drop from the more than 1 million reported immediately after the storm. Most of these outages are concentrated in Pasco and Pinellas counties, where the storm’s impact was most severe.
Thousands of crews are actively working to restore power to the remaining customers and will not cease efforts until all outages are resolved. Some lineworkers are facing challenges accessing damage in residential areas, which may lead to adjusted restoration times. Customers can expect regular individualized updates during this process.
“The last customer to receive power after a devastating storm like Hurricane Milton is just as important to us as the first. We will maintain our focus and dedication until we restore power to everyone,” stated Melissa Seixas, Duke Energy Florida’s state president. “We appreciate our customers and communities for their understanding and support over the past days. We will continue to assist as recovery efforts begin.”
Customers who experienced significant damage or flooding may face longer restoration times and should be prepared for extended outages. Updates will be provided as soon as they are available.
For customers unable to receive power due to damage to their property’s meter base, breaker panel, or electrical wiring, it’s essential to contact local municipalities for guidance. Inspections may be necessary after repairs are completed.
