Mercom Capital Group has named Pearl Street Technologies the Start-Up of the Year at RE+. Pearl Street, which develops software to address interconnection backlogs, was recognized for its innovative solutions that expedite the interconnection process, helping utility-scale projects launch more quickly.
Pearl Street Technologies was selected from over 50 applicants and was among the 10 finalists who pitched to a live audience and a judging panel that included Raj Prabhu, CEO of Mercom Capital Group; Stephanie Annerose, Director of Energy & Power at Piper Sandler & Co.; and Alexander Carbone, Vice President at Clairvest.
Raj Prabhu praised Pearl Street Technologies for its approach to solving the interconnection backlog, a significant barrier to clean energy deployment. “Pearl Street stood out for its novel solution to this critical issue,” he said.
With nearly three terawatts of renewable energy in national queues, Pearl Street’s software has modeled nearly 10% of the backlog, accelerating the interconnection process.

We aim to improve the flow of clean energy onto the grid and enhance collaboration with transmission providers and developers.
