Mattiq Names Duane Dickson as Chief Commercial Officer

Mattiq, a clean chemistry company, has announced the appointment of Duane Dickson as its new Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). With decades of experience and an extensive network in the global chemicals and energy industries, Dickson will play a pivotal role in expanding Mattiq’s commercial reach, building partnerships, and advancing the company’s mission to decarbonize chemical production.

“Having Duane lead our commercial strategy will propel Mattiq into its next stage of growth,” said Jeff Erhardt, CEO of Mattiq. “Our recent technological breakthroughs have positioned us as a leader in clean chemistry, and we are prepared to partner with chemical manufacturers seeking sustainable and cost-effective solutions. Duane’s industry expertise and vision are exactly what we need to form strategic partnerships and seize opportunities in the sector.”

Dickson brings over 40 years of leadership experience from major industrial, chemical, and healthcare companies. He previously served as Vice Chairman and Principal in Deloitte LLP’s Energy, Resources, and Industrials group, where he led the U.S. Oil, Gas & Chemicals Sector, and also headed the global Energy Resources and Industrials group for Deloitte Consulting. Earlier in his career, he was the U.S. Chemicals and Specialty Materials Sector Leader and led Global Chemicals & Specialty Materials for Deloitte, Touche, and Tohmatsu Ltd. He also served as Project Advisor and Chemical Community Lead for the World Economic Forum’s Chemistry and Advanced Materials initiative.

Since retiring from Deloitte, Dickson has taken on roles such as Managing Director at Lumevity and Board Member at Koloma. He continues to serve on advisory boards for Knowde and The Yale Institute for Biospheric Studies, and is a Venture Partner at Breakthrough Energy and a Senior Expert at the Rocky Mountain Institute.

“The chemicals industry is increasingly aware that emissions reductions are now tied to financial performance and long-term success,” said Dickson. “However, they must also navigate rising costs and heightened investor expectations. Mattiq’s electrochemical solutions and materials discovery platform are ideally positioned to drive innovation, growth, and shareholder value while delivering significant climate benefits. I’m excited to join Mattiq, as I believe the company will be instrumental in creating decarbonized chemical products and shaping the future of the industry.”

Dickson’s appointment follows Mattiq’s relocation to a new headquarters at Fulton Labs in downtown Chicago, designed to accommodate its growing team and facilitate collaboration with other deep science innovators in the local tech ecosystem. Both the move and Dickson’s addition to the leadership team underscore Mattiq’s expanding capabilities and readiness to meet the rising demand for clean chemical solutions.
