Press Conference: Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins and Commissioners Partner with Zayo to Launch $28 Million Middle-Mile and Digital Equity Initiative
Zayo, a leading provider of communications infrastructure, is partnering with Dallas County to unveil their new Middle-Mile and Digital Equity project, funded by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). Purpose: The initiative aims to bolster Dallas County’s digital infrastructure by establishing a robust middle-mile fiber network, addressing local connectivity challenges, and laying the groundwork for future technological advancements. The project also reflects Zayo’s dedication to digital equity, partnering with Texas-based nonprofit Compudopt. Zayo will invest $150,000 over two years to support Compudopt in distributing 300 laptops, along with two years of multi-language tech support and warranty, as well as offering six technology and digital skill-building courses.
