Babcock & Wilcox Construction Co., LLC Secures $25 Million Contract for Thermal Power Plant Upgrades
Akron, Ohio – [Date] – Babcock & Wilcox (B&W) (NYSE: BW) announced that its subsidiary, Babcock & Wilcox Construction Co., LLC (BWCC), has been awarded a $25 million contract to perform boiler upgrades, pressure part replacements, and other maintenance services at a U.S. thermal power plant. This project will take place during the plant’s scheduled outage in Fall 2024.
“The coal power fleet supplies about 20 percent of the U.S. electrical power, making it a vital source of baseload energy,” stated Mike Hidas, Vice President and General Manager of BWCC. “Our aim at BWCC is to support the nation’s energy security by ensuring our customers’ baseload generating assets operate reliably and efficiently.”
