On May 20, 2024, PetroChina’s management and employees in the Jakarta Office celebrated Eid al-Fitr with a gathering known as Halal Bi Halal in Indonesia. The event, themed “Growth Mindset for Personal Transformation,” brought together all employees for a day of reflection and celebration.
The festivities commenced with a traditional Aceh dance performed by the PetroChina Traditional Dance Community, followed by a series of Islamic song medleys by the PetroChina Singers. Dudi Supriadi from the ESQ Training Centre, a renowned leadership and people development organization, was the keynote speaker.
President Director Qian Mingyang emphasized the significance of a growth mindset for employees at Jabung. He stated, “As the operator of Jabung during the block extension period, we face greater challenges. Our oil fields are aging, necessitating more advanced and efficient technologies, and our employees must adapt to digital transformation—all while upholding our commitment to health, safety, and sustainability.”
Qian encouraged the team, saying, “The road ahead is challenging, but we are equipped with the agility to adjust and improve. Let’s maintain this spirit of personal transformation for our collective growth.”
During the discussion of the theme, the speaker and employees reflected on the Quranic verse Ar-Ra’d 11, which states, “For each one are successive [angels] before and behind him who protect him by the decree of Allah. Indeed, Allah SWT will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves. And when Allah SWT intends for a people ill, there is no repelling it. And there is not for them besides Him any patron.”
This verse underscores that success comes to those who strive to improve their circumstances, resonating with PetroChina’s core value of innovation in managing the Jabung Working Area.
