Citizen Energy Advances Anadarko Basin Drilling Program

Citizen Energy Ventures, an experienced owner and operator of oil and gas assets, announced that all eight wells associated with Citizen Energy 2025 Drilling Fund, LP are now producing, marking a significant milestone in the company’s ongoing development activities in Oklahoma’s Anadarko Basin. With the eight wells online, the 2025 drilling fund is now substantially complete, while the company continues its current drilling program through the Citizen Energy 2026 Drilling Fund, LP.

The latest development reflects Citizen Energy Ventures’ continued focus on executing its drilling strategy in the Anadarko Basin, where the company has established extensive operational experience. The company’s current program is centered on the Cherokee Formation, with additional wells planned as part of its 2026 development activities.

Citizen Energy 2025 Drilling Fund, LP was launched in late October 2025 and participated in a drilling program supported by more than $80 million in retail, institutional, and management equity. The program ultimately included eight wells, all of which were producing as of the end of August 2026. According to Citizen Energy Ventures, the drilling program successfully completed the wells at or below their targeted Authorization for Expenditure, or AFE, levels.

The completion of the 2025 drilling program provides the foundation for the company’s continued development strategy in the basin. By bringing all eight wells into production, Citizen Energy has completed the primary drilling objectives associated with the fund while continuing to pursue additional opportunities through its 2026 program.

The Citizen Energy 2026 Drilling Fund, LP was launched earlier in 2026 as a $20 million private placement offering, with a greenshoe option that could increase the offering to as much as $30 million in equity. The fund is designed to participate in the drilling and completion of up to 12 planned wells in the Anadarko Basin’s Cherokee Formation.

The 2026 fund is being developed alongside institutional capital, prior investor capital, and management capital. The structure is intended to continue the company’s established drilling approach while providing exposure to long-life oil and natural gas reserves in a region where Citizen Energy has operated for more than a decade.

“Our team has spent more than a decade developing the Anadarko Basin, drilling and completing more than 300 horizontal wells in the region,” said James Woods, founder and president of Citizen Energy Ventures. “Operational execution is critical to our drilling programs, and the results speak to that discipline, including bringing production online quickly in a complicated macroeconomic environment. We’re pleased to give financial professionals and their accredited investor clients a way to participate directly in our continued development of the Basin.”

The company’s operational history in the Anadarko Basin represents a significant component of its current drilling strategy. Citizen Energy has drilled and completed more than 300 horizontal wells in the region, giving its management and operating teams extensive experience with the geological, technical, and logistical considerations associated with basin development.

The Anadarko Basin covers nearly all of western Oklahoma and encompasses approximately 50,000 square miles. The basin is also approximately seven miles deep and extends across four states. Its scale and geological characteristics have supported oil and natural gas development across multiple formations, including the Cherokee Formation targeted by Citizen Energy’s 2026 drilling program.

The Cherokee Formation contains conventional reservoirs and source rocks with proved reserves. Citizen Energy’s 2026 Drilling Fund consists of interests in up to 12 wells targeting this formation. Through continued drilling and completion activity, the company intends to expand its production base while maintaining the development strategy established through its previous drilling programs.

Before launching the 2026 fund, Citizen Energy Ventures’ management team raised more than $100 million from institutional and prior investors. The additional capital was intended to supplement the company’s drilling schedule, improve well diversification, and support operational cost efficiencies.

The capital strategy also provides a broader financial foundation for the company’s continuing development program. By combining fund capital with institutional, prior investor, and management capital, Citizen Energy is positioned to pursue a larger drilling schedule while spreading participation across multiple wells.

The 2026 fund has also been structured to potentially provide tax advantages to investors who elect to participate as general partners. The offering is intended for eligible participants and provides financial professionals and accredited investor clients with a structure through which they can participate directly in the company’s ongoing Anadarko Basin development activities.

Citizen Energy’s progression from the 2025 drilling fund to the 2026 program illustrates the company’s continued commitment to the Anadarko Basin. The successful completion and production of all eight wells associated with the 2025 fund provides an operational milestone as the company moves forward with its next phase of drilling.

With up to 12 additional wells planned through the 2026 Drilling Fund, Citizen Energy Ventures is continuing to develop its position in the Cherokee Formation while leveraging its existing operational experience. The company’s strategy remains focused on drilling and completing wells efficiently, controlling development costs, expanding production, and pursuing long-life oil and natural gas reserves.

The company’s experience drilling more than 300 horizontal wells in the Anadarko Basin also provides an established operational foundation for the next stage of development. As the 2026 drilling program progresses, Citizen Energy expects to continue combining institutional and investor capital with management participation to support its development schedule.

The completion of the 2025 program and the launch of the 2026 fund therefore represent consecutive stages of Citizen Energy Ventures’ broader Anadarko Basin strategy. With eight wells already producing and up to 12 additional wells planned in the Cherokee Formation, the company is continuing its efforts to expand oil and natural gas production while maintaining its focus on operational execution and cost management.
