Willdan Chosen by Seattle to Implement Energy Design Assistance Program

Willdan Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: WLDN) announced that it has been awarded a four-year contract by the City of Seattle to implement the Seattle City Light Energy Design Assistance Program. Through this contract, Willdan will provide technical support to promote energy-efficient design in the development of new multifamily and commercial buildings. The company will also collaborate with local women- and minority-owned businesses, sharing expertise and its NEO® software—a simplified energy modeling tool—to enhance these businesses’ skills and expand their industry impact.

Patrick Campbell, Program Manager for Seattle City Light, emphasized the importance of the program, stating, “To achieve our vision of a shared energy future, the next generation of buildings must prioritize electrification and energy efficiency. This program brings us closer to those goals by equipping design teams with the tools and knowledge to evaluate energy-efficient options effectively.”

Mike Bieber, CEO of Willdan, expressed satisfaction with the partnership, noting, “We’re pleased that Seattle City Light is an early municipal adopter of energy modeling to advance decarbonization. Our tech-enabled approach enables utilities of all sizes to cost-effectively meet the demands of new construction while addressing energy goals and adhering to strict energy codes.”
