Iberdrola has obtained preliminary authorization to develop its first offshore wind farm in Australia, Aurora Green, off the coast of Gippsland (Victoria). The facility could generate up to 3,000 MW of clean energy and will involve an investment of more than 6 billion euros.
The granting of the license is subject to consultation with Aboriginal people under Australia’s Native Title Act. The company has welcomed the opportunity to work in partnership with the so-called First Nations people to ensure that all stakeholders share in the benefits of the clean energy transition in Australia.
