Verdantas, a leading consulting firm specializing in sustainable solutions across the environment, water, and energy transition sectors, has announced its acquisition of ASEC Engineers (ASEC), a Denver-based firm focused on power delivery and renewable energy markets. Backed by Sterling Investment Partners, Verdantas aims to strengthen its expertise and services with ASEC’s renowned capabilities in electrical transmission, substation, and distribution design.
For over 33 years, ASEC has built a reputation as a trusted partner in the power delivery industry, originally providing consulting services for electrical transmission towers and poles before expanding into full transmission, substation, and distribution engineering.
Jesse Kropelnicki, CEO of Verdantas, expressed excitement over the acquisition: “By integrating Verdantas’ front-end site preparation and permitting expertise with ASEC’s comprehensive engineering capabilities, we can now manage the entire project lifecycle for power delivery projects. ASEC’s proficiency in utility and renewable projects, combined with its ISO 9001-2015 certified quality management system, enhances our ability to offer sustainable and innovative solutions.”
ASEC President Landon Schulze, PE, added, “Joining Verdantas will expand our ability to serve power and renewable energy clients nationwide. This partnership not only strengthens our service capabilities but also creates significant opportunities for growth for our 130 staff members.”
James Soldano, Partner at Sterling Investment Partners, noted that the acquisition is a key step in expanding Verdantas’ capabilities in the energy transition market. ASEC’s locations in Colorado, California, Florida, Texas, and Pune, India, expand Verdantas’ reach and ability to serve the growing demand for low-carbon solutions.
This acquisition unites two people-focused firms with complementary strengths, positioning Verdantas to serve 9 of the top 10 investor-owned power utilities in the U.S. and paving the way for future innovations in the power sector while advancing a commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.
