TotalEnergies Boosts Employee Benefits and Energy Purchasing Power

TotalEnergies is strengthening its employee benefits and value-sharing initiatives in response to rising petroleum and natural gas product prices. The company has reaffirmed its commitment to sharing its financial success with employees through exceptional bonuses, employee share ownership opportunities, performance-based share allocations, and additional support for fuel purchases. These measures are designed to recognize employees’ contributions to business performance while helping them manage higher energy-related expenses.

The energy company, listed in Paris, London, and New York under the ticker symbol TTE, considers employee value sharing an important part of its corporate approach. With energy costs affecting households and workers across multiple markets, TotalEnergies is expanding financial incentives and practical benefits for its workforce in France and internationally.

The initiatives include an exceptional value-sharing bonus in 2026, a new employee share subscription programme offering preferential terms, and fuel-related assistance intended to ease the impact of higher petrol and diesel prices. Together, these measures reflect the company’s focus on employee participation in its performance and on supporting purchasing power in a changing energy market.

Exceptional Value-Sharing Bonus for Employees in 2026

TotalEnergies has confirmed that eligible employees in France and other countries will receive an exceptional value-sharing bonus in 2026. The payment is intended to recognize the daily commitment, professionalism, and dedication of employees across the business.

The company highlighted the contribution of its teams to maintaining reliable operations, including the reliability of fuel supplies in France. Employees working across its activities play an important role in supporting the continuity of energy services and meeting customer requirements.

In France, TotalEnergies will pay an advance of €1,000 gross on the exceptional bonus while awaiting the mandatory annual negotiations scheduled for December 2026. The final bonus amount and payment conditions will be discussed with employee representative organizations as part of the company’s established social dialogue process.

The advance payment forms part of a wider package of employee benefits available under the Common Social Framework, which covers nearly 15,000 employees in France. In addition to the exceptional bonus, eligible employees benefit from profit-sharing and incentive arrangements, as well as contributions from their employers to employee savings plans.

TotalEnergies reported that the average incentive payment made in 2026 amounted to €10,136. Employer contributions to employee savings plans are provided in addition to employees’ voluntary contributions, creating another avenue for workers to build financial savings.

These arrangements complement the exceptional bonus by linking employee benefits to company performance and providing opportunities for employees to participate in the value generated by the business.

Employee Share Ownership Supported by Preferential Subscription Terms

TotalEnergies is also expanding opportunities for employees to participate directly in the company’s ownership through a new capital increase reserved for its workforce. Following the 2026 campaign, the company’s Board of Directors authorized another employee share subscription operation featuring preferential purchasing conditions.

Under the programme, participating employees will receive a 20% discount on the share purchase price and one bonus share for every share subscribed, subject to a maximum allocation of 10 bonus shares. The initiative is intended to encourage employee share ownership and enable workers to benefit from the company’s long-term financial performance.

Employee shareholding already represents a significant component of TotalEnergies’ value-sharing strategy. More than 70% of employees worldwide, including over 80% of employees in France, are shareholders in the company.

In 2025, TotalEnergies distributed approximately €700 million in dividends to current and former employee shareholders. Around €450 million of that amount went to employees and former employees in France, demonstrating the financial importance of the company’s employee ownership arrangements.

The company’s dividend policy is another element of its approach to sharing value with shareholders, including employees who own its shares. In September, the Board of Directors announced a policy targeting annual dividend growth of at least 5% over the following five years through 2030. Employee shareholders will benefit from dividend payments in accordance with their shareholdings and the applicable distribution policy.

Alongside the share subscription programme, TotalEnergies awarded performance shares to 13,500 employees worldwide in 2026, including 6,500 employees in France. The average allocation was 545 shares per employee. These awards provide another mechanism through which employees can participate in the company’s performance, subject to the relevant programme conditions.

The combination of cash bonuses, savings arrangements, employee share subscriptions, dividends, and performance shares gives TotalEnergies several ways to connect employee rewards with its business results and long-term development.

Expanded Fuel Support to Address Rising Energy Costs

In addition to financial incentives and ownership opportunities, TotalEnergies has introduced measures specifically designed to help employees manage fuel expenses. The initiatives respond to rising petrol and diesel prices in numerous countries and form part of the company’s efforts to support employees’ energy purchasing power.

In June 2026, TotalEnergies paid a fuel allowance of €200 to all employees worldwide. The payment was intended to provide direct assistance with fuel-related costs at a time when higher prices were putting pressure on household budgets.

The company has also decided to extend access to its Fleet card to all 35,400 employees. The card provides a discount of eight euro cents per litre on gasoline and diesel purchased at TotalEnergies service stations.

In France, the discount is available in addition to the fuel price caps already applied for customers. Before the expansion, the Fleet card benefit was available to nearly 15,000 employees in the country. Extending the arrangement will make the discount accessible to the company’s wider French workforce.

Employees who are also customers of TotalEnergies Électricité et Gaz France can benefit from the same eight-cent-per-litre reduction. For these customers, the discount applies in addition to the €1.99-per-litre price cap on gasoline and diesel available to electricity and gas customers in France.

These fuel-related measures complement the exceptional bonus and employee ownership programmes by providing practical assistance with everyday transport expenses. The Fleet card extension also broadens access to an existing benefit, allowing more employees to take advantage of preferential fuel prices at participating company service stations.

A Broader Approach to Employee Value Sharing

TotalEnergies’ 2026 initiatives combine immediate financial assistance with longer-term opportunities for employees to share in company performance. Exceptional bonuses and fuel allowances provide direct support, while incentive payments, savings contributions, share ownership, dividends, and performance-based awards offer additional financial benefits.

The measures also reflect the company’s recognition of employees’ contributions to reliable energy operations, particularly in maintaining fuel supply in France. By combining financial rewards with targeted assistance for energy purchases, TotalEnergies aims to strengthen employee participation in its success while helping its workforce respond to higher energy costs.

The final amount and payment conditions of the exceptional bonus in France will be determined through negotiations with employee representative organizations scheduled for December 2026.
