Tigo Energy Expands Solar-Plus-Storage Portfolio in Czech Republic, Building on MLPE Leadership
Tigo Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ: TYGO), a global leader in intelligent solar and energy software solutions, has marked a significant milestone with the successful certification of its complete portfolio of three-phase Tigo EI Inverters under the Czech Republic’s stringent PPDS P4 requirements. This achievement positions the company to expand its influence in the rapidly growing Central European solar market, specifically with an integrated solar-plus-storage solution designed to meet evolving residential energy needs.
The PPDS P4 certification—officially known as the Distribution System Operation Rules, Annex 4—is a critical requirement for grid connectivity in the Czech Republic. It signifies compliance with local regulations that align with technical frameworks laid out by the European Commission. As local utilities adopt more complex energy standards, PPDS P4 certification ensures Tigo’s inverters are grid-compatible and ready for widespread deployment.
This development comes at a pivotal time as Europe, including the Czech Republic, accelerates implementation of solar-related safety and operational mandates, such as rapid shutdown protocols. In 2024 alone, over 107 megawatts (MW) of Tigo’s Module-Level Power Electronics (MLPE) were installed across the Czech Republic. Tigo’s proven technology and decade-long presence in the region have earned the company a trusted status among thousands of local installers.
Capitalizing on a Booming Market
The Czech Republic added a robust 967 MW of primarily residential rooftop solar capacity in 2024. With this momentum, Tigo has introduced its EI Residential system to the market—a holistic, modular energy ecosystem designed for modern home energy independence. The EI Residential platform includes TS4 Flex MLPE devices, single- and three-phase inverters, modular lithium-ion battery storage, and the central EI Link, which consolidates all system wiring, communications, and backup capability into one compact cabinet.
This system isn’t just about solar generation—it’s about comprehensive home energy management. With the addition of GO EV Chargers for electric vehicle integration and the GO Junction to connect and manage heat pumps, the platform transforms homes into energy hubs. Homeowners gain seamless control of power generation, storage, consumption, and mobility—all orchestrated through a unified, app-based user experience.
“Tigo securing this certification for inverter operation on the grid infrastructure of the Czech Republic means that installers like us now have a reliable, all-in-one solution that is easy to install and configure, with a flexible, modular architecture that fits a wide range of residential customer needs,” stated Miroslav Vavera, CEO of SUNLUX s.r.o., one of the region’s leading solar installers.
He emphasized the benefits of Tigo’s Energy Intelligence software, which offers proactive system monitoring and remote diagnostics. “For homeowners, this means a system that is always ready to deliver energy security, even during outages,” he added. “Batteries are no longer optional—they’re essential. And Tigo makes managing them incredibly straightforward.”
Streamlining the Installer Experience
Tigo’s commitment to installer satisfaction is embodied in its Green Glove Service Program, which gathers feedback from hands-on engagements with installers across Europe and beyond. Based on hundreds of these interactions, Tigo has introduced installer-centric improvements that significantly reduce setup time and enhance self-sufficiency.
The Tigo EI Residential system now offers a streamlined commissioning flow. The setup process requires fewer manual steps and features intuitive tools for system configuration, enabling installers to deliver faster and more reliable deployments. Key advancements include:
- Automated system optimization to ensure optimal inverter-battery integration.
- Plug-and-play architecture that simplifies the wiring and configuration process.
- Enhanced diagnostic tools that reduce post-installation troubleshooting.
- Improved self-guided setup to assist technicians in the field without needing constant support.
These refinements not only increase installer efficiency but also bolster long-term system performance, ensuring homeowners receive dependable, long-lasting energy systems with minimal maintenance needs.
Driving Energy Transition in Central Europe
As Tigo deepens its footprint in the Czech Republic, it also signals a broader expansion strategy across Europe. The company’s focus on solar-plus-storage systems aligns with the continent’s energy transition goals, promoting sustainability, grid resilience, and household-level energy autonomy.
“As one of our strongest global markets, the expansion of the Tigo EI Residential solution into the Czech Republic is yet another sign that integrated solar-plus-storage from Tigo continues to gain momentum across Europe,” said Jing Tian, Chief Growth and Revenue Officer at Tigo Energy.
“This certification allows us to bring the value of an integrated home energy system that delivers real benefits to Czech homeowners and the skilled professionals who serve them,” she added.
The Czech solar market is particularly poised for continued growth, driven by a combination of government incentives, increasing electricity prices, and consumer interest in self-sufficiency. Tigo’s fully certified, scalable energy systems are well-positioned to support these national priorities.
Engagement Opportunities and Training
Tigo is actively investing in regional installer support and education. A comprehensive list of Tigo-certified installers in the Czech Republic is available through the company’s website. To further support the professional solar community, Tigo has partnered with Iftech, a key regional distributor, to organize Iftech Solar Fvest—a flagship installer event scheduled for September 2025.
This all-day event will give Czech installers the opportunity to:
- Get hands-on with the EI Residential Solution.
- Participate in technical workshops and product demos.
- Interact with Tigo technical experts and executives.
