Tamboran Announces First Beetaloo Gas Sales

Tamboran Announces First Gas Sales From Beetaloo Basin

Tamboran Resources Corporation has reached a major milestone in the development of Australia’s Beetaloo Basin after delivering its first molecules of natural gas into the Northern Territory gas network. The achievement represents an important step in the company’s strategy to establish the Beetaloo Basin as a reliable, long-term source of natural gas for the Northern Territory and potentially the broader Australian East Coast energy market.

The first gas delivery was achieved over the weekend in partnership with Daly Waters Energy (DWE), Tamboran’s joint venture partner. The milestone marks the beginning of commercial gas sales from the Beetaloo Basin and is expected to support the growing role of locally produced natural gas in meeting regional energy requirements.

Tamboran Resources Corporation Chief Executive Officer Todd Abbott said the first gas delivery represented a significant achievement for the company, the Beetaloo Basin and the Northern Territory.

“Over the weekend, Tamboran and our joint venture partner DWE delivered our first molecules of gas from the Beetaloo Basin into the Northern Territory gas network,” Abbott said. “This marks a major milestone for the Beetaloo Basin, the Northern Territory and our key stakeholders, who will start to see the economic benefit of locally supplied energy.”

The successful delivery demonstrates progress toward Tamboran’s broader objective of developing the Beetaloo Basin into a commercially significant natural gas production region. The company has been advancing its assets and infrastructure in the basin as it works toward establishing a scalable supply platform capable of serving domestic energy demand.

The Beetaloo Basin is considered one of Australia’s significant undeveloped natural gas resources. Located in the Northern Territory, the basin has attracted increasing attention from energy companies seeking to develop new sources of gas to support domestic supply and address future energy requirements.

For Tamboran, the commencement of gas sales is an important transition from exploration and development activities toward commercial production. The company plans to continue increasing production as it progresses through the next stages of its development program.

Abbott described the initial gas delivery as an important first step in establishing the Beetaloo Basin as a dependable source of natural gas.

“This is an important first step towards establishing the Beetaloo Basin as a reliable, long-term source of natural gas for the Northern Territory and, over time, the broader Australian East Coast market,” he said.

The company’s development strategy is focused on gradually increasing production and delivering contracted gas volumes while continuing to commission and optimize the associated infrastructure. Tamboran expects to ramp up toward full contracted volumes as development activities progress.

The company is targeting completion of commissioning by early 2027. Achieving that objective would represent another important phase in the commercialization of Tamboran’s Beetaloo Basin resources and could strengthen the basin’s position within Australia’s natural gas supply network.

Tamboran also acknowledged the contribution of its joint venture partner, the Northern Territory Government and its employees and contractors in reaching the first-sales milestone.

“I would like to thank our joint venture partner DWE, the Northern Territory Government and the entire Tamboran team, whose dedication and hard work have made this milestone possible,” Abbott said.

The company said it will now focus on ramping up production toward its contracted volumes while continuing commissioning activities. The next phase is expected to involve further operational work designed to support stable and reliable gas production from the project.

The achievement also has broader significance for the Northern Territory, where development of local gas resources could contribute to regional economic activity and provide an additional source of energy for customers. Locally supplied natural gas can potentially reduce reliance on external sources while supporting industrial, commercial and power-generation requirements.

Tamboran’s longer-term ambitions extend beyond the initial Northern Territory market. As production capacity develops, the company intends to evaluate opportunities to supply natural gas into the broader Australian East Coast market. The company views the Beetaloo Basin as having the potential to become an important source of gas for Australia over the long term.

The company’s position in the basin provides a significant platform for future development. Through its subsidiaries, Tamboran holds approximately 2.8 million net prospective acres and is the largest acreage holder in the Beetaloo Basin depocenter.

Tamboran Resources Corporation is an independent natural gas exploration and production company listed on both the New York Stock Exchange and the Australian Securities Exchange under the ticker TBN. The company is focused on the integrated development of natural gas resources in the Beetaloo Basin, bringing together exploration, development, production and infrastructure activities as part of its commercial strategy.

The first gas sales milestone comes as Tamboran continues to progress its plans for the basin and work toward increasing production. The delivery of the first gas molecules into the Northern Territory network provides an early demonstration of the commercial potential of the company’s assets and establishes a foundation for further development.

With commissioning expected to continue through early 2027, Tamboran’s immediate priority will be to safely and efficiently increase output toward contracted volumes. Longer term, the company aims to unlock the broader resource potential of its extensive Beetaloo Basin acreage and position the region as a significant natural gas supply hub.

The company said the announcement was approved and authorised for release by Todd Abbott, Chief Executive Officer of Tamboran Resources Corporation.

As Tamboran moves into the next phase of its development program, the commencement of gas sales represents a key milestone in the commercialization of the Beetaloo Basin and the company’s broader strategy to develop a long-term natural gas business in Australia.
