Southern Company Provides Education to Upcoming HBCU Student
Southern Company, Propel, Disney and the HBCU Week Foundation blazoned Djahnel Reid of Orlando,Fla. as the philanthropist of a$,000 Propel Student Impact Scholarship on Friday. The advertisement came during the council fair portion of HBCU Week at the Walt Disney World Resort, an event aimed at making a Historically Black College and University education a reality for original scholars.

HBCU Week was created by the HBCU Week Foundation and affords scholars an occasion to apply for literacy and on- spot admission. This time’s event was the first- ever hosted at Disney and saw further than 50 HBCUs and further than,000 high academy scholars in attendance, including seniors from Atlanta Public and Birmingham City seminaries.
Reid was originally interested in attending council close to home at either Florida A&M University or Bethune Cookman University.
