As students returned to campus for the new school year, Texas A&M University’s Mays Business School unveiled the new Reliant Student Experience Office. This space, made possible by a $3 million endowed gift from Reliant through the Texas A&M Foundation, is designed to support all Mays students throughout their college journey, from recruitment to professional development.
“Collaborating with a corporate partner so singularly focused on student success has been a joy,” said Dean Nate Sharp of Mays Business School. “Reliant’s commitment to their customers is summed up by their statement, ‘Our goal is your happiness.’ It’s clear why Reliant’s name on the Mays Student Experience Office is a perfect fit.”
The Reliant Student Experience Office will offer high-impact learning opportunities in four key areas: recruitment, academic success, leadership development, and career development. It will serve as a hub for Mays undergraduate students, enriching their campus experience through programs such as the Freshman Business Initiative, Business Honors program, and Fellows program. The office will also collaborate closely with the Mays Career Center, Undergraduate Advising Office, and the Center for International Business.
This partnership with Reliant aligns with Mays’ vision of building a better future through business and its goal of becoming the nation’s leading public business school during a time of significant change.
“Texas A&M University and the Mays Business School play a vital role in developing our state’s future leaders, which is why we’re thrilled about the Reliant Student Experience Office and the impact it will have on every Mays undergraduate student,” said Rasesh Patel, president of NRG Consumer. “This space will enrich the student journey, providing experiences that enhance learning, engagement, and a sense of belonging. We’re excited to welcome new and existing students and introduce them to Reliant at such a formative time in their lives.”
To celebrate the opening of the Reliant Student Experience Office, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Thursday, August 22. Rasesh Patel represented Reliant, joined by John Morris, Senior Vice President for Development at the Texas A&M Foundation; Dr. Nate Sharp, Dean of Mays Business School; and several Mays leaders who were instrumental in establishing the partnership.
Reliant will also engage with Mays students through the school’s programs, offering real-world educational experiences such as guest lectures in SPARK business classes and hosting student site visits to Reliant’s Houston headquarters.
