Plenitude Announced as Lead Sponsor for La Vuelta 24

For the third consecutive year, Plenitude, a company under Eni’s control, is the primary sponsor of La Vuelta 24, one of the world’s premier cycling events. This year, Plenitude is also the official Energy Partner, responsible for recharging the electric vehicles used by the race direction team that accompanies the cyclists throughout the event.

The 79th edition of La Vuelta will traverse Spain and Portugal, covering 3,265 kilometers across 21 stages. The race begins on August 17 in Lisbon and concludes on September 8 in Madrid.

Continuing its support, Plenitude will once again sponsor the “Maillot Blanco,” awarded to the best young cyclist in each stage. Since its introduction at La Vuelta in 2019, the “Maillot Blanco” has been worn by top cyclists such as Slovenia’s Tadej Pogačar and Spain’s Enric Mas. This jersey not only symbolizes the promising future of cycling stars but also reflects Plenitude’s commitment to the younger generation. The values of dedication, perseverance, and passion shared by Plenitude, La Vuelta 24, and the “Maillot Blanco” are at the core of this partnership.

Additionally, for the third year in a row, Plenitude has chosen Óscar Freire as its ambassador during La Vuelta 24. Fans will have the exclusive opportunity to meet the Spanish cycling legend at each stage of the race.

For the 2024 edition, Plenitude will also sponsor the bike plates of the riders, which will be raffled off in a contest for fans. Followers of La Vuelta’s official X account will have the chance to win a plate autographed by the stage winner after each stage.

Plenitude Celebrates the Energy of Rural Spain

This year, Plenitude’s partnership with La Vuelta extends beyond sponsorship through the ‘Energy for Each Stage’ initiative. This project highlights the rich rural heritage of Spain by engaging local communities in events along the race route. Plenitude has selected five villages along the La Vuelta 24 route, where short films will be produced to capture the vibrant energy and passion of the people during the race. These films will be shown in local sports fields, known as ‘frontones,’ creating a unique open-air cinema experience.

At the conclusion of La Vuelta, all the collected audiovisual material will be compiled into a documentary, which will be available on Plenitude’s website and social media channels. The documentary will showcase the hidden energy in every corner of Spain, waiting to be discovered and shared with the world.
