Oklo Inc. (NYSE: OKLO), a company specializing in fast fission clean power technology and nuclear fuel recycling, has finalized a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Idaho Operations Office. This agreement allows Oklo to conduct site investigations at its preferred location in Idaho, advancing the next phase of site preparation and construction.
As the only advanced fission company with a DOE site use permit, significant regulatory progress, and a secured fuel supply, Oklo is well-positioned to deploy the first commercial advanced fission power plant in the U.S. The MOA enables geotechnical assessments, environmental surveys, and infrastructure planning at the Idaho site.
“Our partnership with the DOE has been crucial, starting with the site use permit and fuel award in 2019,” said Jacob DeWitte, Co-Founder and CEO of Oklo. “This MOA demonstrates our commitment to timely deployment and cost management while ensuring we stay on schedule.”
The agreement strengthens Oklo’s collaboration with the DOE, ensuring that key site preparation tasks are addressed early, facilitating a smooth transition to construction and keeping the project on track for timely completion.
