NextEra Energy Transmission MidAtlantic and WindGrid announce an agreement to work together in support of the New Jersey offshore wind transmission proposal

NextEra Energy Transmission MidAtlantic( NEETMA), an attachment of NextEra Energy Transmission, LLC, and WindGrid, an attachment of Elia Group, moment blazoned that they’ve inked a Memorandum of Understanding( scowl) to lay the foundation to work together to develop and construct coastal wind transmission structure for New Jersey if named by the Board of Public Utilities( BPU).

NEETMA has submitted a number of proffers, inclusively called the NJ Seawind Connector, to the BPU to support the transmission demanded to achieve the state’s coastal wind pretensions. NEMA’s superior design offers the most cost-effective approach to meeting New Jersey’s clean energy requirements while guarding mileage guests and furnishing BPU fresh optionality, expandability and inflexibility, and high-quality coastal wind transmission structure to meet the state’s future energy requirements.

WindGrid builds on Elia Group’s unique coastal experience in both the North and Baltic swell in Europe. To date, Elia Group has connected 13 wind granges to onshore grids and is presently operating three subsea string interconnections. Elia Group is also working on new innovative systems similar as cold-blooded interconnectors and energy islets.
