Leeward Renewable Energy (LRE) has officially launched The LRE Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to environmental stewardship, health and safety, and education. The foundation kicked off with its first annual Charity Golf Tournament, raising $450,000 to support its initiatives.
“We are extremely proud to launch The LRE Foundation and are thankful for the support from our employees and partners,” stated Jason Allen, LRE’s Chief Executive Officer. “The foundation embodies our commitment to making a lasting impact in the communities where we operate. Its pillars reflect our core values and guide our actions at LRE.”
Allen further emphasized that the foundation enhances their philanthropic efforts, creating opportunities for sustainable and positive change.
The LRE Foundation will focus its giving on three key areas:
- Education: The foundation aims to invest in the future workforce, including farmers, engineers, first responders, and renewable energy professionals, fostering vibrant communities for sustainable energy generation.
- Environmental Stewardship: LRE is committed to responsible land management, supporting initiatives such as innovative vegetation management, species conservation, regenerative agriculture, and tree replanting to promote thriving natural environments.
- Health & Safety: The foundation will aid communities by quickly providing disaster relief funds, supporting hospitals and first responders, and addressing poverty and community infrastructure needs.
Initial donations from The LRE Foundation will benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, The Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) Northwest, and the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC).
