Glenfarne Group Appoints New Managing Director and Texas LNG Project Director
Glenfarne Group, LLC, a leading developer, owner-operator, and industrial manager of energy and infrastructure assets, alongside Texas LNG Brownsville, LLC, the developer of a major liquefied natural gas (LNG) export terminal at the Port of Brownsville, has announced significant promotions within its senior management team. These appointments, effective immediately, recognize the invaluable contributions of key leaders across the company’s core businesses. As Glenfarne continues to play a critical role in the global energy transition, these promotions are designed to further strengthen the leadership team and position the company for sustained growth.
The promotions include the elevation of two senior leaders, Jorge Hoyos and Oliver Wood, who have been instrumental in driving the company’s success and expansion in their respective roles.
Jorge Hoyos: Promoted to Managing Director, Glenfarne Group
Jorge Hoyos has been promoted to Managing Director of Glenfarne Group, reflecting his leadership and impactful contributions over the past eight years. Hoyos joined Glenfarne in 2016 as an MBA intern and quickly proved his capabilities, transitioning to a permanent role in the investment team in 2017. His deep involvement in the company’s growth, particularly in the power sector, has been vital to its success.

As a key player in EnfraGen, LLC, a joint venture between Glenfarne and a leading renewable energy company, Hoyos has significantly influenced the company’s trajectory. EnfraGen focuses on developing and operating sustainable power and grid stability assets across Latin America. Since his arrival, Hoyos has been pivotal in driving EnfraGen’s expansion, including its successful entry into the Colombian market in 2019. His leadership also facilitated the acquisition of assets across Latin America and was central to the company’s ongoing refinancing activities.
Under his strategic direction, EnfraGen has experienced robust growth, with a compounded annual increase in EBITDA of over 50%. As Managing Director, Hoyos will continue his critical work in strategy, financing, and mergers and acquisitions, further strengthening the company’s position in the energy sector.
Oliver Wood: Appointed Project Director, Texas LNG
Oliver Wood has been promoted to Project Director of Texas LNG, taking on a crucial leadership role as the company advances its LNG export terminal project in the Port of Brownsville. Wood joined the Texas LNG team in 2023, bringing with him over 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, specializing in LNG, refinery, and petrochemical projects. His background includes a strong track record in project management, and his expertise has been a driving force behind the progress of Texas LNG’s development.
Before his promotion, Wood served as the Construction and Module Director for Texas LNG, where he showcased his leadership skills and ability to oversee complex construction projects. As Project Director, Wood will lead the construction team for Texas LNG, a $60 billion project that aims to deliver four million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of LNG. Wood will collaborate closely with Kiewit, Texas LNG’s engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor, as the project moves toward its Final Investment Decision (FID). His leadership will be pivotal in ensuring the timely and successful execution of this major infrastructure project.
