FlexGen Power Systems, a leading provider of battery energy storage software and integration services, has announced the acquisition of Clean Energy Services CES LLC (CES), a prominent provider of battery energy storage system (BESS) and utility-scale solar service solutions. The strategic move marks a significant step in FlexGen’s long-term growth strategy as it expands its capabilities across the energy storage value chain while reinforcing its position as a technology leader in grid-scale energy storage.

The acquisition will enable FlexGen to integrate advanced energy management software with field-based lifecycle services, creating a more comprehensive platform for energy storage and renewable asset owners. By combining FlexGen’s expertise in software and system integration with CES’s operational and maintenance services, the two companies aim to deliver faster project execution, improved system performance, and stronger long-term reliability for customers.

Another important benefit of the acquisition is the enhancement of FlexGen’s solar and hybrid asset management capabilities. CES has developed strong expertise in servicing utility-scale solar facilities, and this experience will be integrated into FlexGen’s HybridOS® Solar Power Plant Controller (PPC) platform. Following the acquisition, CES will continue operating as CES, a subsidiary of FlexGen, ensuring continuity for existing clients and partners. By acting as the “brain” of a battery storage system, HybridOS® allows operators to monitor asset performance in real time, detect anomalies, and optimize dispatch strategies based on market conditions and grid requirements.

CES will continue to operate its remote operations center (ROC) in Houston, Texas, which currently oversees more than one gigawatt of solar capacity and approximately 4.5 gigawatt-hours of battery storage. These facilities provide monitoring, diagnostics, and operational support for a wide range of renewable and storage assets.

At the same time, FlexGen will maintain its existing remote operations center in Durham, North Carolina. Together, the two operations centers will provide comprehensive, around-the-clock monitoring services, including root-cause analysis, system diagnostics, and field service dispatch. This dual-center approach is designed to enhance response times and improve overall asset reliability.

The combined capabilities of the two organizations will help asset owners address some of the most pressing challenges facing the energy storage industry today.
