Economic Alternatives, Inc. (EAI Water), a leading provider of custom-engineered water treatment solutions, has announced the acquisition of Clearwater Industries, a water treatment company based in Shelton, Connecticut. This strategic move marks EAI’s expansion to the East Coast, solidifying its position as a national leader in industrial water treatment services.
Founded in 1992 by Alan Bader, Clearwater Industries has earned a strong reputation in the Northeastern U.S. for its commitment to both employees and customers. This aligns closely with EAI’s mission to deliver top-quality water treatment solutions. The acquisition allows EAI to extend its Total Water strategy to the East Coast, offering an expanded range of services and reaching more clients across the country.
EAI’s Total Water strategy integrates advanced industrial water treatment for cooling towers and boilers with state-of-the-art technologies, including reverse osmosis, ultrafiltration, softeners, and proprietary chlorine/chlorine dioxide generation systems. By incorporating Clearwater’s expertise and established presence, EAI aims to enhance service capabilities and push innovation within the water treatment sector.
The acquisition is supported by Sylmar Group, whose long-term investment approach will allow EAI to preserve the strong culture and operational legacy built by Clearwater Industries over the past three decades. “We are extremely proud of what we’ve built at Clearwater over the last 32 years, thanks to our great team. Joining EAI Water and the Sylmar Group will provide even more value to our customers as we continue to grow,” said Jim Grieder, President of Clearwater Industries.
“Partnering wisely is essential to long-term success in the water treatment industry,” said Michael Warady, CEO of EAI. “We are excited to welcome Clearwater into the EAI family and look forward to building on their outstanding legacy by delivering innovative and integrated water treatment solutions to our clients.”
