Corscale & Affinius Partner with e2Companies to Bring Virtual Utility® Tech to U.S. Hyperscale Data Centers

Corscale Data Centers and Affinius Capital Form Strategic Alliance with e2Companies to Exclusively Deploy Virtual Utility® Technology in U.S. Hyperscale Market

In a bold move poised to reshape the U.S. hyperscale data center landscape, Corscale Data Centers (“Corscale”) and Affinius Capital (“Affinius”) have unveiled a transformative strategic partnership with e2Companies (“e2”), a cutting-edge provider of integrated power infrastructure solutions. The alliance marks a significant leap forward in the deployment of next-generation power systems tailored to meet the demands of artificial intelligence (AI)-driven workloads and the growing electrification of data infrastructure.

Under the terms of this Strategic Partnership for Hyperscaler Development and Supply Exclusivity Agreement, Corscale has secured the exclusive right, for an initial period of 24 months, to offer e2Companies’ proprietary R3Di® System in the United States hyperscale data center market. This deal reflects a shared vision to deliver a scalable, intelligent, and future-ready energy platform designed specifically to address the performance and sustainability requirements of large-scale digital infrastructure.

Enabling Energy Resilience and Performance at Hyperscale

While the agreement does not mandate a minimum purchase commitment, it is anticipated that Corscale will utilize more than 300 megawatts (MW) of R3Di® system capacity as part of its expansive development pipeline. This pipeline includes current and upcoming data center projects targeting the high-demand hyperscale market. All three companies—Corscale, Affinius, and e2—view this initial rollout as merely the beginning, with the potential for substantial expansion following the 24-month term.

At the heart of this initiative lies e2Companies’ Virtual Utility® platform, which includes the R3Di® System, an integrated and patented solution that delivers on-site, clean, and resilient energy without reliance on traditional utility grid interconnections. This system is purpose-built for facilities seeking energy independence and needing to respond to the rapidly shifting and intense load profiles associated with next-generation AI chipsets from companies like Nvidia, AMD, and Intel.

We are beyond excited about the prospect of partnering with Corscale and Affinius. They understand the technology required to power the AI-data center boom over the next decade,” said James Richmond, CEO of e2Companies. “Every industry is being revolutionized by next-gen AI capabilities. Our combined goal is to provide clean, reliable, and efficient energy to power this revolution.

A Strategic Response to AI and Electrification Challenges

The explosion in AI adoption, combined with increasing reliance on cloud services and digital platforms, is driving unprecedented demand for power-dense and highly reliable data centers. This rapid growth is putting immense pressure on existing electric grid infrastructure. Interconnections to public utilities are often subject to delays stretching five years or longer and are increasingly constrained by regulatory, technical, and logistical challenges.

This reality is fueling the rise of microgrid-based models for data centers. In response, the Corscale-e2-Affinius alliance is betting big on distributed power solutions that can be implemented rapidly, scaled efficiently, and operated sustainably.

Robert Fields, CEO of Corscale, emphasized the importance of technology-forward infrastructure:
Corscale is built to address hyperscale client needs and provide the mission-critical infrastructure that their customers require to store, process, and analyze data. This potential partnership brings e2’s on-site power generation, energy storage, and grid optimization technology directly to our clients. It’s part of our ongoing commitment to delivering innovative, efficient, and highly reliable solutions.

The deployment of the R3Di® system represents a dramatic shift from the status quo. Unlike traditional backup generation or power conditioning systems, the R3Di® platform is a self-contained and grid-independent solution. It does not require interconnection agreements or expensive upgrades to public utility infrastructure. The system offers full-load pickup instantaneously and is capable of absorbing a wide variety of load profiles, including those generated by modern AI hardware that fluctuate in real-time.

Innovation at Scale: Virtual Utility® and the Future of Data Centers

The partnership will also integrate e2’s Grove365® operations hub with Corscale’s facilities. Grove365® serves as a centralized platform for real-time performance monitoring, comprehensive data analytics, and demand-side energy management. Currently, Grove365® oversees 490 energy assets at 165 global sites and has accumulated more than 90 million hours of grid monitoring experience—testament to its maturity and reliability.

Nic Bustamante, Chief Technology Officer at Corscale, spoke to the scale and ambition of the project:
e2 and Corscale plan to deploy the R3Di® technology in parallel with next-generation hyperscale advancements. We aim to independently power our data centers while supporting sophisticated AI GPU servers with future-proof infrastructure. Our AI factory model and ‘building as a machine’ strategy are designed to scale rack densities beyond one megawatt and seamlessly support cloud workloads. This is a genuine leap forward—a first-of-its-kind platform for real-time utility power coordination, dynamic power shaping, and multi-gigawatt scalability.

Affinius Capital: Investing in Innovation

With more than four decades of institutional investment experience, Affinius Capital brings both stability and strategic insight to the table. Their role in Corscale’s formation and evolution has helped shape a data center platform rooted in long-term vision and technological leadership.

Len O’Donnell, Chairman and CEO of Affinius Capital, highlighted the importance of innovation in their investment philosophy:
For over forty years, we’ve embraced new technologies that improve outcomes for our investors. Innovation is a core value at Affinius. We seek to lead, to push the boundaries, and to continuously improve. That’s why our investment in Corscale is so meaningful—and why the partnership with e2Companies stands out as a natural and necessary next step.

This sentiment reflects an increasing recognition among investors and developers alike that the energy systems powering the digital world must evolve just as rapidly as the workloads they support. The synergy between Corscale’s data center strategy, e2’s Virtual Utility® technology, and Affinius Capital’s forward-thinking investment approach creates a model for how next-generation infrastructure projects can be developed efficiently, sustainably, and at scale.

A New Standard for Hyperscale Data Centers

Corscale, which launched in 2021 as a vertically integrated hyperscale data center platform, has already established itself as a premier provider for some of the most demanding global technology clients. With a $25 billion development pipeline, the company is rapidly expanding its footprint, positioning itself at the forefront of digital infrastructure innovation.

Now, with access to the R3Di® and Grove365® technologies, Corscale is equipping its facilities with capabilities that go far beyond traditional power models. This integration enables near-instant deployment, exceptional load flexibility, and a clear path toward full energy independence.

As the hyperscale industry grapples with the dual challenge of explosive demand and strained grid resources, the Corscale-Affinius-e2Companies alliance is a blueprint for the future. By reimagining how power is sourced, managed, and optimized within mission-critical infrastructure, the partnership sets a new benchmark for what is possible in the data center sector.
