Consolidated Asset Management Services (CAMS), a comprehensive service provider for energy infrastructure asset owners, announced a significant safety milestone today. Parkway Generation, a collection of power facilities managed by CAMS for operations and maintenance (O&M), has achieved five years without a recordable injury under the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards. To honor this achievement, CAMS hosted a special event in New Jersey, attended by Parkway management and union representatives.
Ryan Paley, CAMS’ Vice President of Operations, remarked on the milestone, saying, “Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of witnessing this team implement grassroots improvements that have led to top-decile safety performance, culminating in this significant safety achievement. Their dedication to safety behaviors has cultivated a culture where peer-to-peer accountability is encouraged, ensuring everyone goes home safely. I am extremely proud to be part of this team.”
The Parkway Line of Business (LOB) Safety Council, created as a grassroots initiative, plays a crucial role in identifying and implementing best safety practices. This council, comprising chairpersons from union-led site safety councils and plant management teams, combines their expertise to drive effective safety culture changes across the Parkway fleet. Their efforts have been pivotal in maintaining the strong safety culture that led to this milestone.
Ben Vodila, CAMS’ Vice President of Corporate Health & Safety, emphasized the importance of this achievement, stating, “Ensuring the health and safety of our employees and communities is of the utmost importance for CAMS. This milestone demonstrates that safety is deeply ingrained in the values and processes at Parkway Generation facilities.”
Parkway Generation operates seven modern, highly efficient natural gas-fired power generation facilities. These facilities are part of a portfolio managed by Alpha Generation, LLC, and provide essential capacity, energy, and ancillary services to densely populated areas in New Jersey and Maryland. This portfolio represents one of the nation’s largest and most competitive natural gas-fired power portfolios.
