The facility is already staffed with over ten full-time employees, with plans to grow the local team significantly in the coming months. These employees are part of Base’s broader workforce of more than 200 professionals spread across its Austin headquarters, Bay Area engineering hub, and field operations across Texas.

By aggregating thousands of distributed home batteries, the company is able to offer valuable grid support—helping balance supply and demand, reduce strain during peak hours, and provide backup during emergencies. This model lowers the financial barrier for homeowners, allowing Texans to access reliable backup power starting at just $695 for installation and $19 per month.
For homeowners with solar panels, Base batteries can seamlessly integrate, storing excess energy for use when needed. For those without solar, the system still provides uninterrupted power during outages and opportunities to save money through optimized energy usage.
