Avangrid Takes the Lead in Advancing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in 2024

Our focus includes increasing workforce diversity, advancing gender parity, and creating an equitable and inclusive environment. We are enhancing mentorship opportunities, strengthening talent acquisition partnerships, and rigorously monitoring our applicant pools to ensure a diverse candidate selection.”

Avangrid’s DEI strategy revolves around three core areas: increasing diverse representation, especially in leadership roles; providing equitable growth and development opportunities; and fostering community and connection. Currently, 38.5% of Avangrid’s executive leadership team is composed of women, reflecting the company’s commitment to diverse representation.

In 2024, Avangrid has introduced several key initiatives to advance its DEI goals:

  • Partnered with Connecticut State and Disabilityto launch a pilot program aimed at creating employment opportunities for visually impaired individuals.
  • Achieved a record high in employee engagement with Avangrid’s seven business resource groups (BRGs), with nearly a quarter of employees participating in at least one BRG.
  • Expanded training offerings to include a 2024 DEI Inclusion at Work module focused on disability inclusion and allyship.
  • Increased the number of BRG events to 127 and planned 13 volunteering activities for the year.
  • Continued its involvement with Paradigm for Parity, a coalition dedicated to closing the corporate leadership gender gap.
