Apex Clean Energy has announced the promotion of Kenny Chernauskas to Chief Financial Officer (CFO). In his expanded role, Chernauskas will oversee the company’s project finance functions, in addition to leading its accounting and corporate finance teams.
“Kenny has played a crucial role in steering Apex through complex financial landscapes and driving our growth,” said Ken Young, CEO of Apex Clean Energy. “His deep knowledge of our business and his proven track record in corporate finance make him the ideal leader for shaping our financial strategy moving forward.”
Chernauskas has been with Apex for over 11 years, most recently leading corporate finance initiatives. Key achievements include facilitating the sale of a majority stake in Apex, refinancing corporate debt with top-tier banks, and securing essential funding to support Apex’s growth. Prior to joining Apex, Chernauskas held roles at Dominion Energy and RSM. He holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Accounting from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
“I am truly honored to take on the role of CFO at such a pivotal time for both Apex and the clean energy industry,” said Chernauskas. “Over the past decade, I have witnessed the transformative impact of Apex’s work. I look forward to working with an exceptional team to seize the opportunities ahead and create long-lasting value through our mission-driven projects.”
