Tigo Energy Achieves 1,000-System Green Glove Milestone, Boosting Solar Quality

Tigo Energy, Inc., a leader in intelligent solar and energy software solutions, recently announced a significant milestone with more than 1,000 solar systems enrolled in its Green Glove program. This achievement, which spans across four continents, underscores the program’s growing importance as a key component of Tigo’s Total Quality Solar (TQS) initiative. The Green Glove program has become an essential tool for solar installers, driving faster project execution, higher-quality installations, enhanced first-responder safety, and improved overall system performance and reliability.

The program’s success can be attributed to its ability to provide comprehensive support at every stage of the solar system deployment process. From system design through to commissioning and ongoing operation, the Green Glove program ensures that installers have access to personalized technical support, best practices, and valuable resources that help mitigate errors, reduce downtime, and streamline the installation process. The program is particularly impactful in the commercial and industrial (C&I) solar sector, where nearly 70% of the Green Glove engagements have occurred, providing proactive quality assurance for larger and more complex installations. However, Tigo is now actively expanding the Green Glove program to encompass residential solar, further broadening its reach and impact within the solar industry.

At the heart of the Green Glove program is its ability to foster a closer relationship between solar technology providers like Tigo and the installation professionals who deploy their products. By offering personalized support and resources tailored to each project’s unique needs, the program has created an environment where installers are empowered to deliver better results. Tigo’s collaboration with installers doesn’t end after installation is complete; ongoing feedback and insights from the Green Glove team help improve the quality of future projects, driving continuous improvement in both system performance and installer experience.

The Green Glove program has become a vital resource for solar installers across the globe, with over 700 C&I installations and more than 300 residential solar installations completed to date. The program has had a far-reaching impact in several regions, with 47% of engagements occurring in the Americas (AMER), 31% in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), 19% in Asia-Pacific (APAC), and 3% in Latin America (LATAM). Of the 1,000 Green Glove engagements, 55% have been fully concluded, while the remaining 45% are still in progress.

Tigo’s Green Glove program has garnered praise from both industry professionals and solar installers who have experienced the benefits firsthand. For instance, Andrew Taft, the Purchasing and Logistics Director at Exel Solar US, commented on the program’s positive impact on installer efficiency and overall project success. “Tigo’s Green Glove Service showcases their commitment to industry-leading customer service, which aligns with our values and mission,” said Taft. “Their dedicated support helps our installer partners work more efficiently, resulting in more successful projects and satisfied customers. Ultimately, this partnership enhances the reliability and performance of the solar systems we provide.”

Similarly, Greg Sellers, CEO of Stable Solar, highlighted the transformative nature of the Green Glove program. “With Tigo’s Green Glove program, we’ve experienced a new level of collaboration between manufacturer and installer,” said Sellers. “The flexibility of the Tigo solution, coupled with on-site support from Green Glove, have been instrumental in delivering superior results to solar homeowners. The Green Glove program has been a game-changer for us.”

The Green Glove program begins with a comprehensive design review before installation. Tigo’s support personnel work closely with installers to assess the system design, offer insights to improve layouts, and recommend optimal component selection. This collaborative process helps ensure that the system is designed for maximum efficiency and performance from the outset. During the installation phase, Tigo representatives remain readily available to address any questions or concerns that may arise in real time. This on-site support helps mitigate the risk of errors and delays, enabling installers to complete their projects on schedule and to the highest standards.

Once the installation is complete, a member of the Green Glove team conducts a thorough system review to ensure that everything has been set up correctly and is functioning as intended. This post-installation review is an essential part of the Green Glove process, as it provides installers with valuable feedback that can be used to refine future projects and enhance the overall quality of installations. The Green Glove team also facilitates follow-up discussions, providing installers with ongoing support and resources to help them optimize system performance over time.

JD Dillon, Chief Marketing & Customer Experience Officer at Tigo Energy, emphasized the broader significance of the Green Glove program in advancing Tigo’s Total Quality Solar philosophy. “The Green Glove program is an outward-facing manifestation of our embrace of the Total Quality Solar ethos that reaches beyond the Tigo walls and directly into the vast ecosystem of solar installers that deploy our products,” said Dillon. “As such, the program represents our commitment to helping the entire ecosystem, such as Exel Solar and Stable Solar, achieve the best possible outcomes for their customers.

At the same time, it strengthens our relationships within the industry, as many installers return to Tigo for future projects after experiencing the depth of support and partnership we provide. Green Glove is not just helping them. It is also helping us.”

The Green Glove program plays an integral role in advancing Tigo’s mission of providing high-quality, reliable solar technology solutions that contribute to the growth of the global solar energy market. The program not only enhances the installer experience but also provides Tigo with valuable insights into how its products can be further improved. The feedback gathered from Green Glove engagements is formally integrated into Tigo’s engineering cycle, ensuring that the company’s products continue to meet the evolving needs of the solar industry.

In addition to its immediate benefits for installers and system performance, the Green Glove program is helping to address some of the broader challenges faced by the solar industry, particularly as the sector continues to scale. One of the key challenges in the industry is ensuring the quality and reliability of solar installations, especially as demand for solar energy grows across residential, commercial, and industrial markets. The Green Glove program directly addresses this challenge by providing solar installers with the resources and support needed to deliver high-quality installations that meet the expectations of customers and regulatory standards.

As Tigo continues to expand the Green Glove program to include more residential solar installations, the company is poised to further accelerate the adoption of solar energy worldwide. By providing a comprehensive suite of support services that spans the entire lifecycle of a solar system, from design to ongoing operation, the Green Glove program is helping to ensure that solar projects are executed with the highest standards of quality and safety. This, in turn, drives the long-term success of solar installations, benefiting both installers and end customers.
