TNS Launches PCI-DSS Certified Managed COIN Payment Network in Partnership with Australian Payments Industry

Transaction Network Services (TNS) has partnered with the Australian payments industry to deliver a fully managed infrastructure for AusPayNet’s Community of Interest Network (COIN). The COIN serves as a high-availability, secure network for transmitting payment files and transactions, supporting the infrastructure for Australia’s low-value payments system. This network simplifies connectivity between payment participants and currently handles services for cheques, direct entry, domestic cards, and BPAY bill payments.

Michael Johnson, TNS Managing Director of FinTech Solutions for APAC, expressed enthusiasm for TNS’s role as the exclusive infrastructure partner for COIN. “Our carrier-agnostic, PCI-DSS certified solution uses advanced SD-WAN technology with a 99.999% availability guarantee. This managed COIN Payment Network enhances security, resilience, and availability while streamlining access and onboarding, with real-time visibility of network performance.”

The migration to TNS’s managed COIN network is complete, providing scalability and adaptability to meet evolving demands in Australia’s payments landscape. Andy White, CEO of AusPayNet, noted that this partnership reinforces their commitment to a secure, stable, and efficient payments network. “TNS provides a future-proof solution for critical reliability and resiliency.”

Now, all BECS debit, eftpos, BPAY, and cheque transactions in Australia are supported by TNS’s end-to-end managed network, transporting essential real-time authorization and settlement files. TNS’s multi-carrier solution combines various connectivity options to optimize performance, supported by an online portal for real-time monitoring and TNS’s global Network Operating Centers in Australia, the US, the UK, and Malaysia.

With over 30 years in the industry, TNS offers comprehensive Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) solutions across 50 countries. Its portfolio ranges from unattended and in-store payment terminals to secure global connectivity and cloud-native payment orchestration, helping clients simplify complex payment and connectivity needs with one trusted provider.
