Strata Clean Energy has appointed Bob Schaffeld as its new President. With over 30 years in the energy industry, Schaffeld has extensive experience, including the deployment of more than 5 GW of renewable energy in the past decade. He previously served on Strata’s advisory board and brings expertise in utility operations, project development, and engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC), which will be essential as Strata expands its clean energy initiatives across the U.S.
“We are thrilled to welcome Bob as our new President,” said Markus Wilhelm, CEO of Strata Clean Energy. “His depth of experience and strategic insight are precisely what we need to drive our growth. Our customer pipeline across development, EPC, and O&M is stronger than ever, and Bob is the perfect leader to meet the rising demand for clean energy solutions.”
Schaffeld expressed enthusiasm for his new role, saying, “I’m honored to join Strata as President. I look forward to working with the team to accelerate our solar and battery storage initiatives, delivering top-quality projects to meet the nation’s growing clean energy needs.”
Previously, Schaffeld was Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer at Southern Power, a subsidiary of Southern Company. There, he drove expansion through acquisitions and project development, adding over 5 GW of clean power—focusing on wind, solar, energy storage, and natural gas—to U.S. wholesale markets.
