Infinity Water Solutions (Infinity) has unveiled its first-ever ‘Blue Circular Economy Financing Framework,’ making it the first U.S. company to launch a blue financing model focused on environmental impact, sustainability, and water conservation. Moody’s (NYSE: MCO) independently assessed and validated the Framework, marking Infinity as a pioneer in integrating climate resilience with energy security.
“Moody’s validation is a monumental achievement for us,” said Michael Dyson, CEO of Infinity Water Solutions. “We’re not just committing to sustainability; we’re embedding it into every facet of our operations, demonstrating that environmental responsibility and business success can, and must, coexist.”
Infinity’s Framework outlines plans to fund water recycling, reuse, and conservation projects in energy, agriculture, and industry. By leveraging innovative technologies, Infinity aims to position water as a renewable asset crucial for both economic development and environmental health, aligning with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The Framework, structured with guidance from Wells Fargo, includes three funding categories: sustainable water & wastewater treatment, renewable energy & climate, and advanced water technologies & conservation. It aligns with the Green Bond Principles (2021), Green Loan Principles (2023), and the International Finance Corporation’s Guidelines for Blue Finance (2022). Moody’s confirmed its alignment with globally-recognized sustainable finance standards, and Infinity will provide public impact reporting on funded projects’ environmental and social outcomes.
“This Framework demonstrates how differentiated financing can support projects that ease pressure on freshwater systems, encourage water reuse, and combat scarcity,” said David Szmigielski, executive director at Wells Fargo. “Infinity’s approach also offers investors a location-based focus to deploy capital in water-stressed areas, setting a new benchmark for frameworks of this kind.”
By transforming waste streams into reusable water products, Infinity’s closed-loop model creates lasting environmental, economic, and social benefits, ensuring water accessibility for communities, ecosystems, and industries. This groundbreaking approach highlights Infinity’s role as a leader in sustainable water management.
