This recognition underscores Ameresco’s unwavering dedication to sustainability and its commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within its operations and community outreach.
Ameresco’s nomination was driven by its comprehensive 2023 Impact Report, titled “Doing Well, by Doing Good: People, Planet, and Policy.” The report details the company’s strategic approach to creating lasting environmental, social, and governance (ESG) outcomes, reflecting Ameresco’s dedication to improving lives, enhancing community well-being, and protecting the environment.
Key Highlights from the 2023 Impact Report:
- Environmental Impact: Ameresco’s renewable energy projects helped prevent approximately 16 million metric tons of CO2 emissions in 2023, contributing to a total of over 110 million metric tons avoided since its 2010 IPO.
- Diversity and Inclusion: The company has promoted a diverse workplace through monthly DEI initiatives and partnerships, such as with STEM Like a Girl, to boost representation in the clean energy sector.
- Employee Development: In 2023, Ameresco completed over 26,000 employee training hours and launched a mentorship program with 150 participants, supporting professional growth and career advancement.
- Community Engagement: Ameresco employees volunteered more than 3,000 hours, participating in nationwide initiatives like the Earth Day Cleanup and the Go Green Challenge.
Ameresco’s long-term goals include achieving net-zero scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2040, reducing customers’ cumulative carbon emissions by 500 million metric tons by 2050, and maintaining a culture of safety and continuous development for its workforce.
