Weston & Sampson and Rivermoor Energy have been chosen by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) to develop ultra-fast electric vehicle (EV) charging stations as part of the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program. The duo, recognized for their extensive experience and successful history in EV charging and clean energy solutions, will leverage their proven expertise to enhance Massachusetts’ roadway infrastructure. Their established partnership has previously delivered innovative solutions to major corporations, municipalities, utilities, and non-profits across the state.
The MassDOT NEVI initiative will introduce ultra-fast EV charging stations every 50 miles and within one mile of highway exits across Massachusetts’ federal “Alternative Fuel Corridors.” These stations, open to all drivers, will feature four or more 150 kW+ ports, offering the fastest charging speeds with advanced technology. Weston & Sampson and Rivermoor Energy will oversee the entire process, from planning to operation, and provide tailored solutions such as solar energy and energy storage based on site-specific needs.
“We’re honored to be selected by MassDOT for the NEVI Program,” said Johanna D. Hall, Senior Team Leader at Weston & Sampson. “Our track record with MassDOT and expertise in EV infrastructure will help meet the Commonwealth’s climate goals.”
John H. Tourtelotte, Managing Director of Rivermoor Energy, added, “We’re excited to contribute to clean energy and EV charging innovation. Our ultra-fast charging stations will reduce charging times to as little as 20 minutes, making EV adoption more convenient.”
With 15 years of collaboration, Weston & Sampson and Rivermoor Energy have a history of successful EV charging and clean energy projects. Their experience includes projects across Massachusetts, from city-wide initiatives in Boston to local installations in Belmont and Deerfield.
Massachusetts aims to have over 900,000 electric vehicles on the road by 2030, supported by 75,000 public charging stations. The Weston & Sampson and Rivermoor Energy team is committed to meeting this demand. For more information, visit www.rivermoorenergy.com/NEVI.
