Snapper Creek Energy, a cutting-edge data-driven commodity brokerage in traditional, renewable, and transitional energy markets, has announced the appointment of Léonie Karkoviata as Director of Origination for its carbon brokerage desk, effective immediately. Based in Houston, Ms. Karkoviata will be responsible for sourcing and executing carbon transactions and will report to Shaun Wildt, Head of the carbon desk and Managing Director.
Ms. Karkoviata is a seasoned energy transition professional with extensive experience in developing innovative strategies and actionable recommendations for a range of clients, including independent and national energy companies, biofuels producers, utilities, private equity investors, and pension funds. Before joining Snapper Creek, she was the Energy Transition Consulting Lead at Energy Aspects.

Prior to her role at Energy Aspects, Ms. Karkoviata worked at Argus Media as a Biofuels and Energy Commodities Consulting Manager, overseeing energy transition projects across renewable natural gas, diesel, SAF fuels, and feedstock. Earlier in her career, she was a Lead Economics Professor at the University of Houston Downtown’s College of Business. She holds a BA in International Relations from the American University of Paris, an MS in European Economics from the Universidad Ortega y Gasset, and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Houston.
Since its inception last year, Snapper Creek has strategically expanded its team to meet client needs, with Ms. Karkoviata’s appointment following the launch of its Physical Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) brokerage desk in February 2024.
