Intelligent power management leader Eaton has announced a strategic collaboration with Xendee Corporation, a California-based technology company recognized for developing advanced design and operation platforms for distributed energy resources (DERs) and microgrid systems. The partnership combines Eaton’s decades of engineering expertise and proven power distribution technologies with Xendee’s AI-driven microgrid modeling and optimization tools. Together, the two companies aim to deliver a fully integrated, scalable, and future-ready microgrid solution that will accelerate the global transition toward cleaner, smarter, and more resilient energy systems.

This collaboration is not only technological but also financial. Eaton led the Series B financing round for Xendee, giving the startup additional capital to expand operations and enhance its platform with next-generation AI capabilities. The infusion of investment underscores Eaton’s belief in Xendee’s role as a pivotal enabler of the energy transition. By coupling resources, the companies intend to give utilities, businesses, and communities a streamlined path to design, deploy, and operate microgrids that can maximize efficiency, resilience, and sustainability while lowering overall operating costs.

At the core of Xendee’s platform is Model Predictive Control (MPC) software, a cutting-edge approach that leverages AI-driven forecasts to continuously evaluate multiple operational scenarios and select the most efficient and resilient course of action. This goes far beyond traditional energy management, which often relies on fixed schedules or reactive responses.

Xendee’s system is hardware-agnostic, giving operators the flexibility to integrate and manage over 27 different types of energy technologies. These include solar photovoltaic systems, battery energy storage, nuclear microreactors, fuel cells, linear generators, and CHP units. This flexibility allows project developers and owners to tailor their systems to unique site requirements while maintaining the ability to evolve as new technologies or market conditions emerge.
